Welcome

Ethiopia has about 1.2 million blind people, principally caused by cataracts, glaucoma, and malnutrition. Much of this blindness could have been prevented.

Numerous non-profit organizations are engaged in the prevention and treatment of blindness, and also in educating the people to take better care of their eyes.

However, for those who are already blind, much remains to be done to empower and educate them.

We at Door of Hope Ethio seek to alleviate the plight of blind people by giving them the means and tools to become self-sufficient.

Initially, we are focusing our efforts in Debre Markos, Ethiopia, where the need is indeed great. Then we seek to expand aid the blind people in need throughout the rest of Ethiopia.

Mathew 25:35-40

'For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'

"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'

"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

Now is the time to support blind people in Ethiopia. Please donate whatever amount you can. Thank you so much for your generosity. God bless!
